yes simpleness is the key. remind yourself on the happy times when you were a kid and realize that happiness is not found in magazines, tv, and any other media.

you can have a good ole time just hanging out with the right people drinking a cup of coffee or having a nice dinner.

do you like to cook, invite some friends and treat them to a nice dinner or something. if cooking is not your thing, use what your good at and share it with people online or at home.

do not hang out with negative people for they may only bring you down and confuse you. when you start feeling better, then maybe you can help them come out of their slump.

if somethings broke, fix it. i remember reading an ad in the paper that said something like when feeling down, therapy is not drugs, but finding something broke and fixing it.

2. A sense of accomplishment.
4. Having confidence and self-esteem.
Those are 2 big ones that I have personally experienced. A great way to build confidence and a sense of accomplishment, is physical fitness.

Get on a good diet, go to the gym regularly, and within a few months, you will be feeling a lot better.

I have found that the things in life that really make me happy, are not things at all (that's so cliche :)), but they are feelings and knowledge or understanding.

Here is a decent Einstein quote that I try to live by:
The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day.

Also, try to find happiness in things that do not require money (or very little of it). The most happy people in the world, are usually the most humble and simplistic.

also, when negative thoughts start entering your mind, slap yourself and move on to do something. the more you think badly, the harder it will be to move on and be productive in life.

do not comdenm yourself!

When I'm really feeling down, all I have to do is watch a Monte Python movie. I like "the meaning of life" best. :D

i dont try to look for meaning in something that ultimately has none

just try to enjoy every day as much as i can by doing the things i love and spending time with the people i care about

doesnt always work, but its ok to not be happy all the time
