Hours don't matter so much as the cycle you got into. If you woke up in a bad part of your sleep cycle then you'll continue to feel tired the rest of the day.

Find some way to scare yourself. That'll keep you awake for awhile.

Maybe you're getting sick?

I usually wonder why the hell I feel so damn tired the day or so before coming down with something...

Take a nap, eat something but if you eat to much it will make it much worse.

I find a hot chocolate with like 5 sugars added to it help a bit, followed by a pepsi.

when I used to start at 7:00 at help desk I used to get a hot chocolate from the machine and just empty a bunch of sugar packets in it. When I was done that (usually sip on it for half an hour) I'd go get a pepsi from the machine. Nothing will really truely wake you up if you are not a morning person though. My system is designed to sleep till 11-12 so by forcing myself to get up every morning I'm tired no matter what. Does not matter what time I go to bed.

How many hookers do you need to mellow out after doing lines of yeyo off the copier?

On a serious note, you could sleep while you sit on the toilet. Get one of those inflatable travel neck pillows and conk right out.

If you have any hookers, get a blumpkin!

I had at least 7 hours of sleep last night but I'm dying here to stay awake for no reason. I've already had 4 cups of coffee and it's sending me to the bathroom every 10 minutes but my eyes are still begging the lids to close.

Does this happen often? You could have Sleep Apnea.
I used to sleep for 10+ hours, and never felt rested. Turns out i had Apnea. Where you sleep.. but don't sleep.. so your body never feels rested.

1) Sleep 6-8 hours a night. No more no less. That length of time is pretty important, even though most people ignore it. Not only does sleeping more or less lead to sleepiness, but it can cause serious health and memory problems. Heck, it can lower your life expectancy more than things like being fat or smoking.
2) Sleep the same 6-8 hours every night. Yes, even on weekends. This means no more late nights, and no more sleeping until noon whenever you get the chance.
3) Always get up the first time the alarm buzzes (no snooze, no getting back in bed). Actually, if you follow #1 and #2, you'll usually be awake anyways by the time it buzzes. Get up immediately when it buzzes.

If that doesn't work, check into what Guyver01 said, you very well may have a sleep disorder. Caffeine, walks, smoking, affairs, etc all just try to treat the symptom, not the cause. And they do that poorly.

I sound like a depressing buzz-kill. But it works. You'll thank me later if you ever try it.

Green apples - I cut them up and I munch on them, they make me stay awake. Esp if they are sour

You don't actually get any useful sleep after the alarm goes off the first time. You may THINK you are sleeping more, but your sleep doesn't actually accomplish anything beneficial. Studies show that it is wasted time when you go from snooze button press to snooze button press.

Suppose you normally go to bed at midnight, set your alarm for 6 am, but you keep hitting snooze until 6:30 am. You were in bed for 6.5 hours, but you only got 6 hours of replenishing sleep and 0.5 hours wasted. Instead, you could have set your alarm for 6:30 and got up immediately. Now you have 6.5 full hours of sleep and you'll feel far more awake during the day than with just 6 hours (and a wasted half hour).

Methamphetamine may be the answer here. It's usually a very good "pick-me-up" for those times when you just can't keep your eyes open...

I'm sure there's an independent businessman (or an authorized franchisee) in your area who can arrange a suitable supply...:p

Got to bed earlier, eat healthy foods (more green), drink more water, take multi vitamin, exercise, ask for extra work.

#1 A good nights rest. This will fix about 90% of sleep related issues. If you work nights, try to switch to days.

#2 Eat healthy, especially green vegetables. It will keep you going throughout the day. Nix the soda pop, in the long run it sucks life out of you. One cup of coffee or tea in the morning is all you should need for a jump start for the day. Get lots of water and juice during the work day.

#3 Excercise when not at work. It adds energy to you when not excercising.
Also, stretch. Its a good way avoid stress and feel better at the end of a long, miserable day.
