Not specifically, but in terms of where you were born? where you lived most of your life? or where you currently live?

I've always wondered how to best answer this question....

I usually answer with where I currently live...

I live where I was born and where I lived most of my life, so it's all the same for me. When I lived other places, even for long periods of time, home was always here, not there.

Garfield Heights, OH a suburb of Cleveland. The next few days are going to suck. I'm going to have to put with listening to annoying Indians fans crying about how they got stomped into the ground.

home is where I live currently. I usually refer to my parent's home as "home-home". Sounds very dumb or weird, but people around me usually understand.

Yea, i'm kinda in the same boat... I sometimes say my hometown is where i live now - but i say I grew up where my parents still live

I left for college from the same house I was brought home from the hospital to after I was born. I have not lived there since 1986, and my parents sold the house 5 years ago, but that city will always be my hometown.

The most common definitions I have seen says something like:

"Hometown is primarily used as a generic term for the city or town in which someone was born in, grew up in, or the place of someone's principal residence"

If you are born somewhere, but never lived there, I cannot see calling that your hometown. Also, I think you should only use your "principal residence" as your hometown if you did not have a particular place where your "grew up" or spent your "formidable years".

I don't have one. Like GeekDew, home is where I currently live.

I was born in Tucson, AZ as an Army Brat and moved to Saudi Arabia, California, Germany, Georgia, and now DC. I spent the biggest portion of my life so far in Atlanta, but would never call it my hometown.

I was born in Seattle WA, I lived there for roughly 5 years of my 30.

The only place that feels like home is the desert in eastern washington.

Richmond, VA. Moved there after I graduated from high school in Texas. Was born in Asia and have lived all up and down the east coast, from Maine to North Carolina.

I currently reside in California, but I think I like the east coast more.

where I lived most of my life.

I was born in Portland, OR and we moved around a bit, but post-oregon, we spent the longest time in Jersey City, NJ, where my parents still live. I technically lived in Oregon (0-11) longer than I lived in NJ (12-17), but I was too young when we moved to remember a whole lot about Oregon.

I lived in the same house from when i was born until i left for college. I consider that town i grew up in to be my "hometown" and it always will be no matter where i move in the future. I lived in AZ for 6.5 years and always considered this small town in MN my "hometown".

Where you feel like you belong. I live my first half my life in Hong Kong and the other half in Seattle. I went back to Hong Kong after I graduated.

I tell people Detroit, but no one actually lives in Detroit. Detroit is a city of suburbs.

Where I grew up and formed who I am today is my hometown, and that is Indiana. I don't really plan on leaving here permanently.

I still think of the town I grew up in as my hometown. The feeling is fading as things change there (old landmarks gone, stores gone, people I knew gone), and as time goes by
