I have a protective liner that the laptop fits into with a velcro top. I put my laptop in that thing and carry it in my backpack.

STM backpack. I HIGHLY recomend a backpack over a shoulder strap. Far less strain when you are lugging stuff around. If you can get one with a waist strap, its even better, 99% of the weight is off your shoulders.

That is true, but I just can't do a backpack. I think i'm going to probably get one of those neoprene sleves, they look nice.

backpack, it's only 3 lbs! I wish I had a plastic slipcover for it though, to prevent scratches!

I think thats kind of what I'm looking for. Something to go around the laptop that protects it from the books and light impacts and such. But what are these called? and where can i find em?

CompUSA has them...it's here on the case logic website.
or the COmpUSA website has them.
I had one of these for a while, but hated having to pull the sleev out of my backpack, then pulling the notebook out of the sleeve, so I just skipped a step and got the cheap case logic backpack/notebook carry-all from CompGeeks...

Ehhh I think that's not what I'm looking for.. I want something that's just a piece of plastic that is like a giant sammich bag for my laptop!

go to Target B&M. Ask one of the cashier ladies for one of their bags, and try it out to make sure it fits over your laptop, and then take that bag, and go home. There you have it, and Target B&M bags are extra thick and strong, too...

anyone know of a messenger bag for a laptop? (small laptop, though, 10.4" widescreen size)
