What do you carry to and from work?

I commute to NYC every morning, by taking the train, then subway. I go through Penn Station and Grand Central everyday during the morning and afternoon commute. What annoys me are commuters that carry huge luggage to work. These people have one of those drag along bags which is seemingly full everyday. You know the ones that you take on as carry-on luggage in an airplane. What are they carrying to and from work everyday? There luggage slows other commuters down, and makes it tedious navigating through them in the VERY crowded subway/train stations. Its the same people everyday so I know they are not flying or going on a trip... What can these people be taking to and from work everyday???

This leads me to my question.

I carry a bookbag, with a few magazines, a book (for the train) and occasionally laptop.

My 32oz coffee cup and a pack of camel lights... in my pajamas... from the bedroom to the office!! 🙂

I work from home!

I carry my brown bag lunch on Monday and Wednesdays (if I remember to make lunch). Fridays I carry nothing extra in, cause we go out to lunch on Fridays.

just my bag, and Camel Blues, and my iPod, and my phone and my wallet, but that's about it

(p.s.: i don't work yet, only uni)

1. a guitar (strapped on the front)
2. ninja stars (in my pocket of course)
3. a frisbee (for seppuku)
4. ninja sword (on my back)
5. spicy chili (in case I get hungry - even ninjas have to eat)

You should cut back on the coffee...all that caffine will kill you.

lunch, the week (a magazine), 8oz water, mp3 cd player, some bread for breakfast, and a compartment with pens, batteries and napkins and such.

nothing heavy.

as a fellow NYC commuter, I totally agree.

if I'm taking my laptop to work, I dump it in a backpack along with my book and any paperwork I need. otherwise, the book + paperwork goes into a plastic shopping bag, along with the soda/snack I always pick up on my way into work.

I hated those people when I was taking the train or metro into DC. :|

I took a laptop occassionally, but usually just a handfull of comics or a book. Once in a while I'd have more, but rarely.

Now I don't bring much in besides the occassional bottle of water, a book/comic, and maybe my laptop. But I drive to work now, so it shouldn't be a big deal. 😛

I carry my bag. I have paperwork that I need to have on me in case one of my stooges needs help and I am at home. I also have to carry medical supplies for my son. Since I already have the bag for that, I also carry my digicam, extra batteries, a snack or two, and theninjas spicey chili

Laptop
And I also have a "weekend" bag I carry in with me every day that has change of clothes, shoes, toothpaste, burhs, deoderant, asprin, etc in it.

edit: and my portfolio tooo, but theres a handy pocket on my laptop bag for it.

brunswickite, I know what you mean. I almost hit one of these assholes everyday when I drive in to work. I used to take the train in, and these people would take up several spaces with their friggin luggage.:|

Folex?

oh...and to answer the OP's question. They are probably salesman. They have to carry lit and product with them to their stops.

Lunch, occasionally a magazine and/or my gameboy advance plus the standard stuff in my pockets(wallet, keys, phone, knife).
