What do you call the police?

To their face: Depends on their rank or my personal affiliation with them. Officers I work with get the first name treatment, superiors get the rank (aside from those who insist I use their first name).

To others: I try not to use names to others, so I refer to them as "partner" or "other Officer" when telling a story.

I don't address police officers with a title. I don't call anyone in this world "sir." I talk to a police officer like I talk to the person working at starbucks or the governor of Texas. They're all the same to me. *shrug*

I have nothing against them.

Usually when speaking to them, I refer to them as officer.
When talking about them, I say cops or the police.

The other day my brother and I drove by a police car and I said "look at the pigs" but I wasn't talking about the police officer, I was talking about the 2 fat old hags that he pulled over.

Yeah, I like 5-0 and popo. 5-0 is cool to say in the car to tell the driver that you see a cop.
