what do you all think about this LCD

someone asked about it the other day, but i couldn't find any info on it. the brightness is considerably higher than that of the other 22" panels, as is the contrast ratio, so i'm not sure about the panel. i have to assume that there will be some other 22" panels out there besides the CHIMEI pretty soon.

For $299 with a $50 MIR combined with the Costco return policy, I'd say it looks great & you should give it a try... if it sucks just return it.

TN's are 6-bit panels which only display 16.2 million colors as opposed to 16.7 million displayed by 8-bit models, making for washed out color in photos & some banding in darks scenes in games.

thanx for the info

what panels do dells use? like the 2007

The 2007fpw is shady. Some ship as 8 bit S-IPS and some ship as 8 bit M-PVA. The former is exponentially better. If you get an M-PVA panel, you've gotten jipped, but if you get the S-IPS panel, it's an awesome monitor. I just got an LG L194WT. I like it, it displays 16.7m colors w/dithering and has a great response time. No ghosting. The L204WT is virtually the same thing in 20" format.
