Heh, I'm so opposite, I just want air conditioning, a decent stereo, and three pedals. Everything else is fluff to me, though I do see how it could be nice in some ways.

Bluetooth is mandatory for me as is Sirius satellite radio. I spend too much time in my car not to have those two features. NAV is kind of optional but without it you get that tiny screen and it just doesn't look right so I'll get the NAV too. It will help with resale when the time comes and it's not that much more expensive. Leather? I can take it or leave it quite frankly. Moonroof? I like having the option to open that up or at least see through it. It kind of opens the cabin up a bit and makes it feel less claustophobic.

heated seats are meh. air conditioned seats are godlike.

do they even make ACed seats?

heated ones are great if you have leather seats and its below zero out, which happens where i live in the winter

my past 2 cars have had them my next will

hell my 88 volvo 240 wagon had them

Yes, my wife's Lexus has cooled and heated front seats. It is really really nice on a hot day.

They just have fans in them, usually. They blow air through the perfed leather. It's still great though.

It blows air conditioned air through it. It is definitely cold.

Yeah, there's probably a duct under the seat for the fan to pull air from.

Some might use a peltier cooler with the fan.

^I'm with him....

With one exception....Keyless Entry/Push button start.

Once you get used to not having to deal with keys every time you get in and out of your car, it is really hard to go back to using them.

Why don't you go test drive a Suzuki Kizashi GTS? 6 sp MT, handsome interior, remote keyless, push button start among loads of equipment, and the best driving dynamics in a sedan south of a BMW 3 series? Fuel economy is also decent.

Oh, I agree in the push button situation. Hard to go back to keys :p

Because its complete utter shit.

I had one of them as a rental, shit has like 3k miles on it and was already falling apart, engine sounded like a squirrel caught in a fan, interior was full of rattles and it looks like a melted jetta from the outside. The manuf probably wont be here in a few years anyway, good luck with parts at that point. There really is absolutely no reason to consider something from Suzuki/Mitsu at this point. The fact they're throwing in random things like keyless go on a cheap car is just to make a point, unforgivably, they fail horribly.

A Kizashi as rental? Are you sure? Wasn't what you had as rental an SX4? As far as I know, no Kizashis have made it into rental fleets. There is a huge difference between both cars, as the Kizashi is a better car than anything else in it's price range. Rattles inside? what kind? behind the IP, below the seats, where? Styling in the front is sedated, I agree, but the back and sides are gorgeous!

If you indeed had a Kizashi as rental, I am sure you had the CVT version. Care to share more details? Color? rental company? What do you drive usually that you are using as reference?

My daily driver is a Kizashi MT, have had it for 8 months, and to this day, I still get excited about going to work and drive it everyday. I might partial to the car, but on the other hand, I make a living working with cars, and drive a lot of them, so I could have picked something else easily...

I like the car.. but optioned out, they get pretty expensive.

The reactions people have to that are rather weird to me. I guess the problem is that for the most part a compact car is a cheap car in the States. But in places like Europe or here in Hong Kong a compact car is greatly desired due to the high fuel prices and premium on space. So the idea of putting in a lot of money to get a high featured car in a compact frame is not out of sync here. But give people in the States the ability to option up a compact car from a low base price and they only focus on the top end pricing. I understand why Ford is doing it though. They seem to be banking on the fact that with the rise of gas prices in the States that fuel economy is going to take greater and greater precedent. So they're giving you the option to price up a fuel efficient compact car into something that is equivalent to a set of features that normally would only be found on larger sedans.

I also have to agree in that I'm too enamored with the push button start. But I think it was a bad idea to put it only in the top trim. I would definitely pay for it as an option in the lower trims but I'm not interested in all the other added costs associated with the Titanium trim (like the leather).

Leather seating is an option on the Titanium...

Again, a Focus Titanium is ~22K and it doesn't come with most of that stuff everyone keeps talking about.

There are cars with power vented seats. I don't know if they are part of the main AC system.
