What do vegetarians eat on thanksgiving?

My wife was a vegetarian, who now eats limited amounts of meat, and she wouldn't eat poultry when she was into it. Her preference was to not eat meat at all, especially red meat, but even turkey was a no-no. However, she did still eat stuffing ... go figure. Regardless, just make sure there are plenty of veggies/starches and they'll be fine.

Or go with Tofurkey as Mosh recommended 🙂

"Even turkey"? What makes birds different from cows?

What makes fish different from all other animals?

Nothing. True vegetarians don't eat fish.

I eat meat, but my favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner isn't the turkey, it's all the sides (like potatoes and corn and whatnot) so I think they get along just fine.

True ... and my comment initially was just mis-typed. She was never truly hard-core, and did eat a bit of poultry or fish now and again. Many people claim vegetarianism while still eating chicken or fish, which is wrong. They just don't eat red meats.

Who cares? Let them suffer. If you're an ideological vegetarian, you deserve to be unconvinced.

If, on the other hand, you're a vegetarian because of medical reasons, you CAN have meat on special occasions.
