Indeed, they are 4 of the top 5 most commonly used passwords (the fifth is "password"). The statistics are based on a file recovered from hackers who had accumulated passwords for 32 million different accounts, as reported in the New York Times.
I make up passwords that use a combination of letters and numbers. The letters don't form an existing word but have a sound to it that is easy to remember, and the numbers are always something that I can personally remember because I see or hear it somewhere.
It's not that hard to think of a good password... I know nobody could ever guess mine.
