It's suppose to be a fast to help the poor or something like that according to my muslim friend.
I personally think it's BS.
He does all this fvcked up shiet for 11 months out of the 12 and he's good for 1 month.
What's the point ?
I wonder if that 1 month period actually makes him feel as if he accomplished something.

Not sure what you are looking for with "what do ppl think of Ramadan".... It's a religious thing that is done. I got to say that it's odd that as long as the sun is up they abstain from everything but as soon as the sun goes down... GAMES ON! The few sites I searched just now mention how during Ramadan they actually have shortages of food since they eat so much during the eves while socializing etc...

I think it's no different than people who think that just by showing up to church on Sunday they're "good", despite the fact that they were out drinking and partying the night before.

What's the connection, folks? That's right, religion is bullshit! :D

I stopped going to church like 5 years ago.
I think it's the best choice I made. I believe, I just don't believe in going to church.

Baloney. I spent 18 months in Morocco. It's just more fun to sit here and read the mail. :)

hahaha... reminds me of the time i was in high school. i went to a catholic all-boys high school where probably about 40% of the students are muslim (see the irony?). during Ramadhan all sorts of teasings from the non-muslim are totally ON. they eat in front of us and, you know, drink Coke in a slow-motion-tv-commercial type of thing, and several other lame acts, just to tease us into breaking our fasting.

come to think of it, we joked about each other's religion and religious practices all the time (and sometimes even race!), yet nobody was ever offended, because it wasn't meant to offend anyone and just high school students having fun. some of us were pretty religious too, considering we're all high school students.
