What do people mostly play on CSS?

I hate CSS, dying then watching other people play bores me to tears, even when i survive longer than 2 mins its just bleh, flashes, buying stuff, not shooting your own team by accident, finding the bomb/hostages, planting the bomb/hostages meh whatever, too many chores for my liking.

However today i found a server with instant respawn and a selection of weapons from the start with the option to always respawn with the selected weapon and change it later if you want, none of that money BS. It was pretty fun! I got bored when my kills/deaths were at 244/170 but that was awesome, it was like half life 2 deathmatch and halo 1 multiplayer with the lethality kicked up 100x.

Is it mostly "normal" games people play on it though or is there a lot more of these team deathmatch type servers?

I've always played normal and been playing Counter Strike since it released way back when. It's not really a deathmatch kinda game.

It is kind of supposed to be like that. In deathmatch type games, there is no fear of death. I don't really care if I die in Halo 3. I'll just be back in 3 seconds anyway.

In CS:S, I don't do stupid things to get me killed. The death is a punishment of sorts. I do not want to die in CS:S.

Yeah thats what my friend said, it makes you more careful. Guess im just too far gone into the aggressive rush in kill as much as possible then die/respawn routine.

I like gun game servers. Also some quick respawn deathmatch in iceworld like you described is always fun.

Gun Game is one of my favorites. Zombie Mod is ok, but unless they have a really creative map with a lot of objects to block yourself in with (and no "secret" rooms with one tiny opening that are impossible to break into). Scoutsknivez with typical low gravity is always fun. I also like the occasional glass-themed maps, like breakfloor and glasstrap.

The vanilla game is actually a blast once you're decent. Pick a map (like cs_office or de_dust2) and learn every inch of it. Realistically you can do that in a few days. Then, practice with one type of weapon - rifle, SMG, sniper rifle, or even pistol, and perfect aiming and timing your shots. The biggest difference between CS:S and many other MP shooters is that it's far more tactical. A single bullet to the head will kill you 999 times out of 1000, and 3-4 well-placed bullets anywhere else is enough to finish you off otherwise. Accuracy is horrible if you shoot while running, so unless you're right on top of your opponent with a SMG, you'll want to aim, then stop moving before firing your shots. CS:S (and especially CS) have a much tougher learning curve than other FPS's.

Yes, its fun. You start on level 1, every kill is a level gain, but depending on server rules it could be more. First person to get to the last level wins.

There are alot of mods around this game play as well.

No just click on a server and enjoy

74.63.68.94:27015 - reverse gungame, you start from awp. And Elimination means you will re-spawn if the person who killed you dies. Very popular server.

There are many other TnB servers, I think they have 25 intotal Gungame(GG) servers

gun game is definitely the way to go if youre bored of the regular game. unless you are in a clan or some kind of dedicated group, theres very little teamwork in the pub games and theres no sense of accomplishment if your team wins. gun game, on the other hand, you can win by yourself since its a free for all, though there are still teams. its very fun and if you play on the same servers often you get to know the regulars. be warned, there are some real good players out there that win pretty consistently. oh, and bring your knife skills, even if you play turbo

Just regular, I don't play much anymore, but when I do I play on a No Sniper server.

For a long time all I bought was Full Armour and P90. Nowadays I just hit F1 and take what it gives. Sometimes I'll buy Smoke if my Team keeps getting hit at a particular point or maybe a Flash if I think it'll help.

Dying is no big whoop, take the time to see what others are doing. If you see a pattern, try to change what you do to counter it.
