To get regular camcorder (not digital) videos to my computer? My daughter has one of those
old camcorders and I want to put her videos on disk for her.
well next you'll need rca cables (the yellow for video and the red/white ones for audio)
latest software/drivers fro your card and you should be all set
you camera does have a V-Out/A-Out on it right?
also what card are you getting?
well you might as well get a vid-card with vivo abilities not just a vivo card cause they'll cost the around the same I believe. if you want a newer vid-card with vivo abilities you can get a radeon 7000 for like $45 somewhere on pricewatch.
ATI AIW 32mb DDR card has a plug in wire that permits you to capture from a VCR or any device that gives you Video and stereo audio to RCA type 3 plugs.
Additionally if and when you get a Cancoreder with firewire (EEEE 1394) feature
you can install a fire wire card into your computer and most have drivers on the Operating System CD.
Then get software:
Premiere 6
or Ulead media Studio 6
or VideoVegas 3
and a free Vertual Dub 1.4.10 or later.
