What do I need for a Wi-Fi network?

I recently bought a PDA that has built in 802.11b, and I have been itching to get a Wi-Fi network going. What do I need to buy to get the three connected? Obviously the PDA has it built in, my laptop needs some type of addition which I am guessing is a PCMCIA or USB Wi-Fi card, but what do I need in my computer? I would like the PDA and laptop to be able to share my desktop's internet connection by the way, also my desktop is on a 8 port (wired) switch with 5 ports taken up which is where it gets its internet connection. Anyone have some ideas?

You need a wireless router to get them all connected to the internet. As long as your desktop is close enough you can hook it up the same way you have now as most wireless routers have switch ports for regular wired LANs. Then you get a PCMCIA or USB adapter (like you said) for you notebook. Setting them up will take a little time but make sure you setup some security measures. Far too many people buy this wireless stuff, hook it up real quick just to get it to work, and then leave it wide open for attack.
