what do i do if one PIN from the cpu broke?

Have you tried to use it? I had an xp with a broken off pin that still ran fine.Of course it may also burn up the rest of your stuff 🙂

I've broken a pin and my cpu still worked. That was probably 3 years ago and its still running for my sister. If deadless means still working, then don't worry about it I guess. If you mean dead, then try your damnedest to get it replaced, but don't tell anyone you broke a pin.
 
if you're lucky it's just the pin for a number you don't use often, like 8. don't try to type '8' too often and your computer should be fine.
 
I have the capability to solder it on.

I can tell you that it will cost more to have it repaired then to buy a new one though!

Lesson learned: do not knock down your CPU PINS! Go to a bowling alley if you want to knock down pins.

Why don't they have bowling alleys on cruise ships? Now that would be some serious fun there. My AMF Angle would finnaly live up to its name. Hahaha!

indeed, I used to be a field engineer for Unisys(top tier Dell field support provider), we don't give a crap how things got broken, as long as we make our calls for the day. As far as we are concerned the idiot dell tech support people told you take your processor out and you where too stupid to put it back in correctly.
