fvck'n'A man

I'm christian, in my opinion - you can believe whatever you believe
i don't go around trying to convince people that theres a god
and i don't want people trying to convince me that there isn't

I don't really care about non-Christians, I'm just tired of hearing them bitch and whine *constantly* about how theists are making their lives difficult.

Yes it has and no you don't. Get the hell out, flamebaiting troll.

He has been a member for longer than you have been. Who are you to call him a troll? Go back to your Lindsay Lohan fantasies and don't ever come back.

i think this qualifies as ownage. *hi-five*

I have Protestant friend (he refers to himself only as a Christian) that would say to my other friends FACES 'You know you're going to hell right?'. He even admits to thinking his own father is going to hell also because he isn't religious. He would still talk with you and hang out and stuff, but you could always tell that in the back of his mind he's got you pictured in hell when you die.

Yeah, I'm kinda conflicted there. One the one hand, if they think I'm going to hell, they should care enough about me to do something about it. But on the other hand, they should shut the fvck up.

A 22-y/o who idolizes a teenybopper star telling someone to grow up? next thing you know, MJ will speak out against child molestation and OJ against domestic violence 😛

i wish my dad would stfu, heres what he told me yesterday:

Dad: "I got a real blessing from the Lord last night"

*it should be noted my dad, in addition to being a drycleaner, is also a used car salesman, and a christian....and acts like it*

Me: *thinking:<sarcasm> this is gonna be good</sarcasm>* : "What was that?"

Dad: "Well, I took (bah to name, a friend hes had for years and years) to the auction last night, and we saw this car that should have gone for about $5,000; and my friend said hed pay up to that for it. So I talk to the owner of the car, he says he'll take $4200....So I tell my friend 'hey, would you pay $4600 for it?' and he said yes! Son, I just made $400 bucks!"

so my dad rips his friend off for $400 bucks; something i wont bother to argue about because:
A) hes a used car salesman
B) hes my dad and boss, so id rather not be arguing about it *all day long*
And says its a blessing from the Lord; Im never going to know how he justifies thinking that, but Im guessing it wouldnt make any sense anyway.

What a bastard.

As a card-carrying non-believer, I gotta say "Who cares?"

They believe in an invisible man in the sky, and you honestly care what they think about you?

Heh, my father (the real one, who I've met about 5 times in my life) is an ex-alchie who smokes about 4 packs a day and is as addicted to Jesus (not to mention nicotine) as he ever was to booze.. I hear ya man 😉

I had two ex girlfriend who were extremely religious christian hippies. They didn't care that I was athiest/whatever.

I am Christian. Religion is a very big part of my life. I do not push it upon others, but it does influence a lot of how I act and what I believe about certain things. There sure are a lot of people out there that claim to be Christians but do not act like it. The "fire and brimstone" ones are the worst. I do feel, however, that generally, Christians are much nicer, honest, and caring people than non-Christians.

Personally, I feel sorry for non-Christians. I feel like I have this gift that I have received that others are missing out on. I can remember the old me, stressing out all of the time, worrying about every little thing. That doesn't happen anymore. It is very comforting to know that my life is in the hands of God, someone who can sure make better choices than me, and that He will put me wherever He wants me to be.

I do not judge others. If someone asks for my opinion, I will give it. I do not push my views on others. To me, the scariest thing would be to be athiest - to believe that we're here, we eat, work, and then die, and then there is nothing.

People seem not to understand that Christianity is not about rules, it's about freedom.

That's it for me. Hope I didn't offend anyone. If you're planning on flaming me with some "fundie" crap, don't waste your time. Just forget it and move on.

I actually have reasons to hate religion, seeing as how they tormented Kepler, imprisoned Galileo, and turned Pythagoras into an evil schemer. And even after all the bloodshed, what has it helped achieve?

I could make this open ended to all religious types, its just that the Christian ones are impacting my daily life.

So, I assume you hate all of Russia and Germany because of all the scientists, art, and books they destroyed?

Hypothetically speaking, if Jesus was still walking the earth, think about how wonderful the world would be. I don't think any other religion can offer a better role model than that.
My dad was an atheist, and whoever is Asian here can back me up on this; Asian adult/old men are not easily taken into something new. However, he was willing to give Christianity a try just because of what kind of person Jesus was. Now he's a believer :Q

i find your sig very interesting, FFMCobalt. in it you say
LOCK RELIGION BASHING THREADS AND BAN THE FLAMEBAITS!! :|

so anyone who has a different opinion than you and voices their opinions should be banned and their voices subdued?

as far as i can recall, there was another person in our history who had the same ideology...his name started with a H and ended with a R

I agree,

Don't judge Christianity through man, you will be disappointed every time, but through Jesus, the example all Christians should strive for.

Hinduism is the way to go man. No wasting time feeling sorry for people of other religions, no evangelists, just non-violence and a tolerance for people from all places. I guess why we're not so concerned with other religions and feeling "sorry" for them is because it's written in our vedas that if someone leads a good life, is kind and giving, forgiving and tolerant then he too is a Hindu.
