B.E. Electrical Engineering

Transmission Planning for Con Edison

But my friend who graduated with the same degree as me just started as a financial analyst for JP Morgan. So maybe your future isn't completely dependent upon what your degree is in. I think it's a lot about how good you are at interviewing.

I'm working on my Business Manangement Degree for an undergrad and I'm a Network Systems Administrator for the university I attend. It's nice that they pay free tuition for employees up to 9 hours per semester. I may have to get my MBA for free. :p

What's cool is that you're not some dinky nerd....When someone hacks you you can go to their house and acutally make them stop in person....permanently.

Senior in college working towards an electrical engineering degree. I'm looking into RF design and pondering where I shall go to grad school.

I found IEEE and EETimes helpful in determining what sector I would like to try out when I'm done with school, for an EE major anyway. :)

Umm, I'm working on a math education degree with a Spanish minor. I thought about CS for a while but I took one class and discovered that I HATE WRITING CODE. I'd rather polish my pole with low grit sand paper. :p The other career I've pondered lately is being an actuary, but I don't think I could stand the number crunching. I don't care how much they pay me.

Still in school, working on a BS in CS (and no, that's not Counter Strike :p). Not quite sure what I'm going to do once I get out. Right now I working at the school Help Desk for the summer, and probably going back to Target (retail - ugh! :|) Once the break is over. I need to find a job that pays more than peanuts, unlike these two.

I've got a couple questions for the other posters in here though:

1) How long did it take you to find a job once you graduated? Did you do any "internship" work during school? If so, did you end up with the same company, or go elsewhere after graduation?

2) Where did you find the job? Near your existing home, or did you have to move - out of town, out of state, etc.?

just wondering.

1) A year, and no internship.

2) Out of state, way out of state. Moved from Ohio to Texas.
