Today I learned that:

Results in:

Pasting without formatting

I've kept a Notepad open for over a decade just to quickly transfer data without formatting or styling. smh. Efficiency-wise, I've got an MMO mouse (a dozen programmable side buttons, brilliantly useful!) that I use for keyboard shortcuts & macros I use on a regular basis & just bound this sequence into a button.

The hours I've wasted over the years lol.

Way back when Windows 95 (ver A) first came out I was a PC World subscriber and received a PC World mouse-pad as a promo with said subscription that had all the cool keyboard tricks listed on it!

Binging anime I have already watched before til 3:30 AM is a bad idea.

We all have our traps! I call these "Productivity Sedatives". Screens are especially powerful because it's all too easy to stare into the void for hours on end watching shows, going down wikipedia & youtube rabbit holes, and doing the "endless scroll on social media".

I only got TikTok a month ago & have already surpassed 1,000 subscriptions. I avoided it forever & then discovered that 1-minute videos are like crack for my brain lol. People get straight to the point with stuff like recipes, home repairs, comedy, etc. I'm pretty sure I learned more from TikTok in four weeks than I did in the entirety of college lol.

Like this avocado seed hack - I have a friend who is a nurse & sees people with cut hands all the time because they try to be macho & end up ruining their hand because the knife slipped trying to get the seed out:

My turning point for realizing that productivity sedatives exist was when I stayed up until one or two in the morning a couple years ago watching the primitive fishing channel. After a long day & a few hours zoning out on youtube I kind of snapped out of it & was like what am I doing with my life lol:

Today, I learned that the 'Boost' standard for mountain bikes doesn't apply only to the wheel hub and dropout widths. It also applies to the crankset spindle length, which I don't have enough spacers for. Now it gets returned for exchange lol.
