Long ago I would walk in the wild world. I spent so much time there that it came to be as home to me. I grew so comfortable there that I would walk or run through the woods and fields in my bare feet. I came to know every tree and every flower. Not each kind, in the places I would walk I came to know each one like a friend. I knew the mushrooms that grow in dark places. I knew the mosses that grow on the fallen trees and the stones, and the little things that live in the mosses. I would walk miles to see a particular plant, or stone, or tree. I forsook my fellow humans and clove to the forest rather. I became a sage, wise in the ways of the seasons, and the stars, and of all creatues great and small, from the hawks wheeling overhead, to the springtails who live in the mold. I knew many things that only the animals know, that are hidden from other men. I established sanctuaries of life where even mosquitoes may not be harmed and all living things might find refuge. I partook of the sun and the rain and the essences of all life, growing mighty in the earth and sharing in her bounty. Spring smiled kindly upon me when the flowers sprang around my toes, and winter harmed me not at all. Standing alone in the dark, beneath the stars and the naked branches, with the snow around my feet, I contemplated the same things that the trees dream of in their slumber.

In my thirst of knowledge I purchased a "glowing box". At first it was good. Knowledge of many things in distant lands was made available to me that I might never discover otherwise. My mind was occupied by the noble study of many arts. In time wispered rumors came to my ears of a land called ATOT. The rumors were vague. Many had heard of ATOT, but few claimed to have been there, but one thing was certain: ATOT knows all. So I searched for ATOT, seeking to share its knowledge and wisdom. I stumbled into the brave new world, and with eager fingers I made my devil's pact with ATOT.

There was knowledge, true, but there was also YAGT and nef, and the finding was difficult. Still it was a task within my means, so I kept up the search. It wasn't clear at the time, but decidedly the knowledge diminished while the YAGT and the nef grew, but still I searched. I did not see until it was too late that if you stare overlong into the nef, the nef stare also into you. Now the nef is in me too and I share in the same fate as everyone else at ATOT. But I'm not bitter.

I spent time on match.com. I liked having female penpals, but they finally closed my free account.
