I'm not talking long term but as soon as you got your diploma and High School was officially over, what did you do that week or the weeks following? I quite clearly don't know what I'm going to do so I'm nervous and worried. College is still up in the air but I'm thinking about just working for a little and not going directly to college. I'd like to write some stories and see how far I could go like that. I dunno.

That week? went to the beach, hung out with friends, continued working at my part time job... normal summer stuff. I went to a community college the following fall.... there's a whole huge story going from there until now that I don't want top get into, but I'll jsut say: aviod community colleges if possible... you tend to get stuck there and stagnate.

Why do you say that? I'd just like a year off of my life for Pete's sake. Incessant school has lead to decay of most of my sanity.

Four days after HS graduation I threw my clothes in the trunk of my car and headed out. I wound up in Nevada and got a job on a horse ranch. Being a big city boy in a small town I had a great time. After 6 months I got bored and joined the Army. For the next three years I traveled the world and applied my training to the bad guys. I miss those days.;)

I'm still in high school. But if all goes to plan I'll finish up college in 2 years then get a high-paying job and wife right off the bat. Hah!

If you're not ready for college, don't go. No point in rushing things and failing, you have lots of years ahead of you to be a responsible adult.

That actually sounds realistic and original. I'm tired of hearing this horsesh!t about getting a bachleors in Computer Science and getting a job in the IT industry. How lame and boring.

I don't remember what I did right after I graduated high school. Probably just hung out with my friends. About a month and a half later, my dad retired from the Air Force and we moved halfway across the country to be closer to family. After that, I started college, which is where I'm at right now.

I think surviving is the key. I mean, Dazed and Confused put it right, it's like we're preparing for something with our jobs. I'd like to just survive with a decent paycheck and peace of mind. Not to be greedy but, for a lack of better words, get life over with.

Well going to collage with people your age is always a good thing. If you wait, you will wait more. Procrastinate until your married or stuck with a kid, not always a good thing.

Let me tell you my personnel dilemma. Try asking a girl you pretty much feel in love with that actually has a career leading in a promising future when your still stuck at home paying mother rent. If you wait to go to school for maybe even a year, that is one year of your life you blunderd. If you control the present, you control the future.
