What did I break? PICS!!

I went over a foot tall parking lot "divider" thinking I could clear it and get onto the other side of the parking lot. I heard a thud and knew something was wrong. It's an 04" F-150 Heritage XL.

Nothing's wrong with drivability, but how much is this going to cost me to replace?

It's a crossmember, I believe. It's removable from what I can see. I'm an idiot on the road when I drive my F-150 Heritage, I swear, I've gotta get a Taurus or something.

*shudder*

Meh, looks like you just scraped/bent apart of the frame. Honestly, I doubt it would do anything to driveability or its rigidity, but it would give a big "WTF happened here" to the next owner.

Meanwhile, your vehicle isn't a monster truck, drive around it!

I know. I keep thinking it's a hummer with tons of ground clearance. When in real life, it's a 2WD F-150 XL long bed.

isnt that just the crossmember support for the rear of the transmission? Its just slightly bent, not broken.

aside, why did you go with the heritage edition? I personally would not go for the heritage edition after hearing how horrible they did in crash tests. The new F-150 is considerably much better performing.

ya, that pieces holds the the transmission in place - bending that little end shouldn't matter at all.

Nice, I'll take it to the shop and pay them to use their lift.

I didn't buy it. My dumb dad did. I swear. For the same price he could have gotten me the redesigned model with the same features. If I get hurt badly from getting in a head on collision, I'm suing my dad.

You should be OK. If you get T-boned at that exact spot, your truck won't crumple quite as designed, but there's not much chance of anything drastic happening. The frame on a truck like that can take quite a beating before it'll give up the ghost and you've barely scratched it. 😛

DUBYA TEE EFF. Why in God's name would you by a truck only to get a weenie 2WD truck? I mean, that's not even a truck! It's an ugly car! And you suck at driving it too.

 a man that know what a truck really is and should be. To me a truck is nothing short of at least a superduty F-250 4x4 with the diesel engine.

Like I said, I didn't buy it. If I were to buy a truck, it'd be an F-250 at least. My dream truck is a Nissian Titan. 😀rool:

I swear, my dad is the most stupid car buyer in the world. I can't wait to buy my own car. But until then, I gotta drive this.

The F-250 with a powerstroke diesel is more truck than the Titan ever will be, imo.

But, at least you got a truck, i'm stuck with the family minivan from '91 for now, a toyota previa at least.

My GF's dad bought her a Titan. When I park next to it , my truck looks like a pathetic POS.

Whenever my car is next to a big truck, it makes my car look so tiny! I always find it a bit humorous.

That's not the frame, it's just a crossmember. Don't even worry about fixing it. It's not worth it and it won't make your car any more or less safe by either fixing it or leaving it the way it is now.
