I think it was the last movie I saw in a theater. So glad I did. The opening sequence of getting further away from earth, while not an original idea by any means, was worth the price of admission. Nothing registers the vastness of the galaxy, muchless the universe, like that. Length was fine, personally I've never understood people wanting to get their entertainment over with quickly.
It was about faith, it was about aliens, it was about the lengths people with go to in order to cling to their beliefs. It was about government control, it was about how the fringe on this planet may be more mainstream in the galaxy. It was about a lot of things. Takes awhile to cover all that.
