What degree do you have?

I'm curious to know who has a degree that has been worth a damn for them. I suspect only engineers will say yes...

Totally worth it. I make more money during a summer internship than some of my other friends make in a year with their degrees. Plus, I love what I do.

Engineering ftw!

Whoa, there are many educated people here, but how come this education isn't matched by the quality of many posts.

G.E.D. 10 years.
Good enough diploma?

Double BS ComSci, Economics 4 years, Masters's in Finance 1.5 years. Oh yeah, CFA L1... need to get back on that next year.

It is getting harder and harder to find positions without a degree, so I think just about any degree is useful in that regard.

BSEE - 5.5 years, not counting the year that I sat out (6.5 years total). The year that I sat out saw a change or requirements that I did not know about until about a year later. Had 18 credit hours that didn't count toward my degree because of it.:'(

Also have an Associate of Science in Engineering Science from another school.

All of mine are very beneficial. If you go to top 10-20 program, it will do you a lot of good.

Out of 22 applicants I was #1 on their list.

They needed someone with a background in accounting, and information systems 😀

BS in MIS (4.5 years), MBA with CS minor (4 years part time at night school). Worth it? Absolutely. A bachelor is a minimum requirement at my current place.

Working on a industry related cert right now.

Geological Engineering degree
Masters degree (Paleontology)
Illness prevented me from completing my Ph. D.

hBA in history and political science. Was a specialist double major program. 4.5 years

Ontario College Graduate Certificate in Journalism - New Media. 1 year

All in all, I spent 6 years in higher education. Was originally doing commerce until I realized I suck at math. 😛
I still consider my university years as largely a waste of time. All college got me is the fantastic opportunity to work for free, for god knows how long.

it got me my first job interview (aka: my career), even if said job didn't have anything to do with what I majored in.
