Lol
I'm all for creative assignment but this one has me struggling to come up with a legit purpose other than what it appears to be on the surface.

Let me just keep this handy

No doubt there is significant variation by county.

I suspect lubbock County, where the subject school is located, is vastly different than say Travis county, where Austin is.

Back in the late 70's early 80's all the girls wore short shorts and this wasn't a problem until people started freaking out about "Modesty". Seems to me the solution is real easy here.

Lets not forget about the yoga pants epidemic that cause much clutching of pearls by "certain people".

Well, to be honest, their "proper" name was a little provocative....hot pants.

I'm lol'ing because I used to wear shorts that were just a tad longer in the inseam than what's in those pics and basketball players from that era must now feel like they were wearing speedo's compared with the current sport fashion trend.

I've kept a red Hang Ten surf shorts that I surfed in back in the 60's as a sentimental keepsake (it's still got paraffin wax worn into it because they were rinsed and never washed) and now I have to go look at the damn thing again just to see how short in the leg they actually are.

That's what we wore for gym shorts, in the day.

Are we moving backwards? Or is it just Red State crap?

"The boy, identified as [redacted], told CBS DFW that he believed his teacher was doing it as a joke. "She didn't put pressure on it or anything," he added.
His family reportedly want the teacher fired, however.

Lakadren Jackson told Fox 4 the teacher had said she would put her foot on the boy's neck if he didn't stop misbehaving in class. When the boy and other students said she wouldn't, he got down on the ground and the photo was taken."

"The incident comes less than two weeks after a Texas high school disciplined students for a group chat called "Slave Trade," in which they pretended to sell Black classmates.

Also this month, three teachers at a middle school in Wisconsin resigned after they set sixth graders an assignment asking how they would punish slaves."

Where do these people come from?
Before clicking on the article I tried to guess where this occurred. My first guess was Alabama, but I forgot that Texas is on a real hot streak of knuckle dragging lately.

Don't worry, liberal states are more than happy to one up conservatives when it comes to the dumbing down of schools in the name of equity, and it looks like they will win the race to idiocracy.

When you use shit sources your posts tend to reflect that.

They aren’t getting rid of advanced math, they are teaching it differently and more comprehensively.

This is what happens when you try to make (what you think is) a clever point or comment, but you didn't bother reading the article, or comprehending what it says.

Typically uninformed, conservative clown with another false 'gotcha'. Shocker.

How accurate is that article? It looks highly biased but if they are forcing everyone to take the same classes until 11th grade then I don't see how they aren't partially getting rid of advanced math. I started going to the high school here in 7th grade and was taking calc in 11th grade so seems like a huge delay to me if someone is good at math.

Passing a math class and understanding math are two different things. Apparently the issue is the actual comprehension.

Well I agree with you there, understanding is far more important. Memorizing the steps to solve different types of problems is only gonna get you through the class and you're not really learning why you're doing any of it which makes it hard to apply to different situations. I'm still not really seeing why it would make sense to delay advanced math classes though as some people will still come to understand it faster than others.
