What DDR motherboard to get?

Besides ECS stuff, I'm looking for a good stable DDR mobo for around $100. I'm leaning towards Epox 8K7A...is there anymore I should think about?

Not that this is first thread on the DDR mobo.

I would get the Epox 8KHA or 8KHA+.

The Epox 8K7A is a solid performer, but you only get 2 dimms.

My 2 cents

Shuttle AK31A. It is a KT266A and can be had for like $90 shipped off of pw. Very basic board, but very fast and very good.

I'm personally waiting on the Epox 8kha+. At this point you definitely should go with a KT266A solution. 10%-20% boost in performance is definitely worth $10-20 more, its hard to find similar performance increases for your dollar when you look at other upgrades (vid card, cpu, etc). I was looking at the MSI K7T 266A Pro2, but for 6 bucks more, it looks like the Epox is going to be a better performer. You also got fully jumperless features that you won't find on lower end boards and manufacturers like Asus charge a premium for. Couple that with the potential for a 1/5 and 1/6 pci divider (Epox had a 1/5 divider on a previous board as well) and its an overclockers dream. Not gonna get a chance to snag my XP 1800+ from my sis for another week or so, and my 2 sticks of crucial aren't coming in for another day or two, so I'm in no hurry....plus my current rig is no slouch either 🙂
