State if you're using it for headphone or speakers!

I'll start:

Strictly for headphone

1) Mhdt Labs Paradisea 3
2) Keces DA131.1

I plan to build an AlienDAC or BantamDAC in the next few weeks, but currently i'm using a Miglia HarmonyAudio Firewire Audio Interface as a DAC on my MacBook.

Strictly for Headphones.

I tossed around the idea of getting a Zero, but I think i'd be more satisfied with a DIY build.

Have you considered the Apogee duet that only works with Mac? It would certainly fits your motto of "all things apple"!

Too expensive IMO. I've heard expensive models (including the Duet) and I can't hear a difference to be honest. The difference going from Mini Out to the DAC was huge, but the difference between different DAC's is subtle to me, too subtle for me to spend any serious amount of money on it 🙂

I was using a upgrade Zero DAC (with a Prelude) with DT880.. I'm now using the Auzen Forte's on-board headphone amp, which works really well and has great audio quality. Without an intense listen I would say the Forte's on-board amp is of identical or better quality to the upgraded Zero DAC.
