What cpu temp should I beleive?

The Bios is only right if you're in the BIOS. If you're in Windows the diode will read less because Windows idles the CPU. In the BIOS it's full on.
Get something like motherboard monitor with the patch for the A7N8X deluxe.

Actually unless your room is real cold I'm wondering if the 32 and 41 are correct. What does the MB temp in the BIOS say?

They are both right,in bios the cpu halt command is not on.

while in windows XP the os will halt the cpu at idle & make it run cooler.

so your mobo temp is 28 C, your socket temp is 32 and the internal diode as read in BIOS is 41 C. MBM will report a lower temp on the diode.

You're good to go.

My BIOS temp is 56 C and diode on MBM is 48 C. SOcket and probe is 38 C. Mobo is 32 C. Room is about 80 F.

I guess I will have to get a SK 800

MBM reads my temp about 10 degrees lower then bios. MBM is listing at 25 right now, havn't checked bios in the last few hours, but it has been running fairly consistantly at about 10 degrees higher then MBM when i restart to check the bios. So both are correct then?

There is NO WAY the internal diode in your chip is at 25 C. There is no way your Socket temp is 25 C.

I've heard a lot of funky temp readings with the A7N8X. Hummm...maybe a bad batch of thermistors? Who knows.

I finally heard back about this from Asus. They told me to call a tech support line. Which I haven't done yet. toll of course. Sc$w them.

I dont know, i just tellin ya what MBM reads, and btw im on a p4 machine running a abit sr7-8x. So i guess abit has problems as well.

And it went back up to 30 when i closed my window and heated my room up a bit. It like it fairly cold most of the time. I dont know if that has any effect or not.

I thought we were talking abot the A7N8X...

Even then, are you sure you're reading the right sensors? Rarely is their a mb temp at 25 C much less a CPU.

i hope i am, i have sensor 1 set to winbond 1, if i set it to winbond 1 2n3904 or winbond 1 diode then it shows 127 degrees so those are too high to be the cpu temps.

Cruise on over to the MBM website.

I know for the A7N8X that one sensor reads 25 C and another happens to read 127 C and both of these aren't valid. Interesting those are the same numbers you're getting. I remember the first time I saw the 127 C. I freaked out. Some dudes on here really helped calm me down. <G>
