What CPU/Mobo combo should I get?

Well it turns out either my motherboard or CPU died, so I will be upgrading those 2 components.

Right now I have:

AMD 64 3000+ S939
nForce 4 Ultra mobo
6600GT PCI-E
Corsair XMS with the lights, so cool. PC3200 I think?
450W PSU

My question is what is the best CPU/Mobo combo?

I play counter-strike 1.6 which doesn't need hardly anything, and other than that I use firefox, so this doesn't have to be amazing.

I don't want to drop too much on the system so I was looking at newegg for these combo's:

http://promotions.newegg.com/AMD/021407/index.html

I'd get the $149.99 bundle since I need at least 3 PCI slots and PCI-E.

Also, for the memory will the motherboard be able to run the regular DDR type?

Thanks for all the help/recomendation!

I really haven't looked at any intel core 2 duo chips, but if there are any in the same pricerange / are better please let me know!

If you are planning on getting an am2 chip from AMD, I think all manufacturer's require DDR2 pc800 memory.

If you plan on using your DDR pc3200 memory you are going to be looking for a socket 939 AMD processor and a motherboard that uses those.

Check this link for a socket 939 processor at Newegg.

Okay, thanks for the clarification, looks like I'll be upgrading my system to DDR2 then, with an AM2 processor/mobo
