What CPU fan would you suggest for an AthlonXP 2100?

I'm using the fan that came with the retail AthlonXp 2100+ and I just finally figured out that my computer is sooo loud because of that one fan. I have a 3 80mm fans in my computer case not including the 2 in the power supply and the cpu fan. I have hated the noise but was too lazy to do anything about it, until now. I can hear my computer fans from the kitchen (which is about 15-20 feet away). Is their a good, quiet, and fairly cheap (around $20) heatsink and fan that I could use for my CPU that really works and is good? I'm fed up with having to turn up the volume on my speakers just to hear some dialog from a game because the fans were too loud. Please help.

you sure it was that loud compared to your case/psu fans? normal case/psu fans aren't quiet compared to the retail amd heatsinks. i have had 2. unless your case fans are panaflos and your psu is something nice, i bet all your fans need fan speed controllers or just repacement with quieter ones.

any cpu half decent cooler will work with it really, its just a 2100+. course the more expensive coolers will allow you to run with lower rpm fans. slk-800 +panaflo would work

Changing just the fan isn't the answer- you need to change the heatsink, too, for one that doesn't need a high speed fan.

These are widely used with very good results- not in the silent category, but much quieter than the stock models. Any of the quieter models are large, so be sure it will fit... not cheap junk, an actual bargain...

Speeze whateverRock that uses an 80mm fan. $12 shipped from Newegg. Quiet and will give you good temps. Do make sure to clean the CPU with acetone or the like to get the retail pad all off (despite that you're supposed to use a lint-free cloth, I find really cheap napkins work great!), put some silicone-based gunk on there and go for it (if it doesn't come with any--I don't recall--, I still have some left from when I had to get a 3g tube from Radio Shack...almost 20 CPUs later it isn't used up, so don't feel bad about having to pay a couple bucks for some compound)
