What could be wrong with this LCD monitor?

Hi, hoping someone has possibly seen this before.

Just like the summary says, wondering what this could be. I've included some pictures of the problem.

Overview
Close Up

Was fine for a couple years, then one day began showing nothing but lines. The patterns vary, but they're bunched up on the side like the pictures show.

These pictures are with no input. I just hit the button to pull up the menu, and the lines will appear and remain on the screen. Any advice?

Thanks,

Alex

It's dead, Jim.

Seriously, if that's what you see with no input conncted, I'd say some part of the internal circuitry is fried.

Unfortunately, it may cost more to repair than it's worth. 🙁

Fortunately, new, better monitors are pretty inexpensive. This 23" Samsung monitor is on sale for $179 (price shown in cart). 🙂

Fortunately, Best Buy and some other B&M stores now offer free recycling for dead electronic products.
