What combination of enable/disable do you need to use to allow 3d Detection but no Overdrive in CCC???

Rivatuner overclocking requires 2D/3D Detection enabled apparently but requires that Overdrive be disabled... how does one accomplish this, which services et al need to stay on, and what needs to be off? Thanks :)

Yep. Go to run and type in "services.msc." Choose the properties on each of the ATI services and change them to Disable.

ATI Tool is nice for OCing ATI cards. Personally I use that to scan for artifacts while running Real Time HDR Lighting and change clocks from there.

It doesn't work for rivatuner. I'm familiar with that standard approach for using ATI Tool et al, but it won't do the 2d/3d clock switch with rivatuner under that configuration.

I dont use ATI Tool because its buggy as hell whether with Cat 6.3 or 6.5s

What I need to do is disable Overdrive but keep the 2d/3d detection service running

Overdrive can be disabled the same way you enabled it, through CCC, unless I'm forgetting something. The two services are what controls the 2d/3d detection, so you keep them enabled.

I think you can also disable overdrive (if you enabled it by mistake or whatever) by uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them again. That should do it IIRC.

That's what I ended up doing, just reinstalling. I couldn't figure out how to re-lock Overdrive.

Anyway, it worked well, got a very stable 700/900 (1800) through Rivatuner on stock volts ... havent tried pushing the mem past 1800
