what color shirt to wear on an interview?

I guess it depends on the color of blue. A dark blue would be cool. I'm just not down with light-blue with suits.

light blue is second to piss yellow in my list of color shirts I would never wear...

White shirt with a black suit? Yes, if you're applying for a job as a funeral director. White shirts are OK with other color suits, but a colored shirt is a better choice with any suit. White = stiff, white with black suit = Al Gore.

Yes, White shirt with black suit. Most companies are still conservative, and the more conservative you go the better. This is especially true if you are interviewing with a big company, and the interview is with one of the "C" level employees (CEO, CFO, CIO, etc).

Colored shirts, expecially ones other than blue, are typically a no-no.

Absolutely true.

You just don't wear colored shirts to an interview. It says "I can't dress myself and an important meeting/client."
