Brown with brown or khaki.

Black with all shades of gray, black, or blue.

I am now ignoring all your advice. Sorry but black and blue do not mix, especially navy. Brown is where it's at for blue.

Everyone, stop giving him wrong advice. I know fashion trends and I know that green shoes and belt would be perfect with a pair of light grey pants.

You are so right, how could I have been so blind?

"Consider the color of your suit. Black shoes work best with navy, gray (all shades) and black suits. Brown shoes work with tan suits, as well as some shades of navy and black. Black is considered the dressiest shoe color.

However, I admit that I'm old school in this area and tend to be more conservative when matching shoes with pants/suits.
Other than with blue jeans, you're not likely to ever see me wearing brown shoes with blue or gray.

Cordovan shoes with light gray pants/suit is about as conservative as it gets.

If that's what you want to wear, fine with me, but no "red" (burgundy) shoes for me thanks.

New trends call for Brown shoes and belts to go with grey pants and suits. It is a nice contrast.

The "trend" doesn't make it right.

yes brown shoes and a belt with gray pants is just plain wrong

brown goes with navy, khaki and earth tones, black with everything else.
