University of Colorado - Boulder.

I got into Rice and MIT, but why go there? I like paying $2k a year for in-state tuition. Your undergrad really doesn't mean much if you're looking at getting a masters or better. Get a good gpa at a div I school and you'll be fine. My best friend went to Rice. He definately regrets it.

I'm in my junior year in electrical and computer engineering with a 3.8 gpa right now.

Cool, I was thinking of going there... I'm sure you've heard of Bucknell University. My brother goes there. Currently go to Grand Valley State University, because most of my friends go there, and it's a great school for your buck (It got like Best Buy 7 years in a row).

At least that school doesn't get confused with Penn State..

That's all they had to see on my application to realize that I wasn't U of M material. I appreciate the compliment.

Let's hope they don't screw this white, middle class boy over on his application this year....[/quote]

osu

only applied to it b/c I like Columbus and I'm basically going to college for free.

I forget my sat/act scores

my act were higher, around 30?

sat was either high 1200's or low 1300's...I never really cared to try on them : P.

h.s. gpa was 3. something unweighted.

Applied to UW, Stanford, and Rose-Hulman. I would have gone to Stanford if I had been accepted and could afford it, but am happy at the UW.

First -- and only -- choice

So if you got rejected, you'll be in community college?

I wouldn't have gotten rejected because of the top 10% rule in Texas.

Top choices were Carnegie Mellon and Johns Hopkins, got into Carnegie Mellon, but was offered very little money. I'm actually going to make money from going to college.

My first choice was U of M (only because I'm from Michigan) and I didn't get in. I wonder why...
