4.0+ in high school, 30 ACT, not sure about SAT. Went to UW for two years with a college gpa of 3.0. Couldn't get into EE so I transfered to UH (Hawaii) where they love me for who I am. :D The weather sure is nicer, and there are hot women, everywhere.

I applied to:

Ole Miss, Miss State, Louisiana State, University of Southern Alabama, University of Southern Mississippi, Georgia Tech, and MIT.

I got accepted to all but GT. I got scholarships to all of the first 5, I chose Ole Miss. I'm now reapplying to USM.

ACT:29
SATI: 1300 (IIRC)
GPA: 3.4

You got into MIT with a 3.4? And you got accepted to MIT but not Georgia Tech????

Sorry, I got those reversed.

LOL you had me scratching my head on that one. I was considering applying to MIT, but have since decided that it is not worth the extra $22,000 a year over University of Michigan.

Maybe your lack of grammar/mechanics is why you were rejected. It's "couldn't care less." ;)

My first choice was U of M (only because I'm from Michigan) and I didn't get in. I wonder why...

Are you going into engineering?

I was but I hated it. I'm in computer integrated manufacturing technology now. Its a better fit for me. I really didn't care about the theory, I'm more of an implementation person.

Hmmm I am suprised that you got into Purdue but not U of M if you were going into engineering. Purdue's engineering is pretty prestigious...

"Hi, my name is BornStar18, I'm white, middle class and male."

That's all they had to see on my application to realize that I wasn't U of M material. I appreciate the compliment.

SAT: 1160?
GPA: 2.87?

Wow... I am actually from Greeley, Blunder. Talk about a small world, eh? Just out of curiosity, why don't you like UNC? I agree it isn't a great school, but I am curious.

I am currently at Lehigh.

SAT: 1350
GPA: 4.0
HS GPA: 4.43

Wow...someone from Greeley on here? Really is a small world. The short of why I don't like Greeley is: it's too small, I'm taking 5 history classes and have no free time, and because of that, going home is a biatch. It's just an hour away, but I really have trouble getting much studying done when I go home.

I'm going to Paul Smiths College for culinary arts right now but I'm transferring to Monroe Community College next semester and hopefully Johnson and Wales after that, if i can find out how to pay for it. I don't know what the hell I was thinking coming here, it's a 10 min drive going 60 to get beer! What's wrong with that?

Well they have sinced been forced to change that, so if you were to have applied this year you would be fine.

Let's hope they don't screw this white, middle class boy over on his application this year....

Why would you want to go to a college that has to be forced to accept "people like you"?

I say screw them. It's their loss.

I agree. I would never apply there and I completely hold this against them. I would never let any kid I may have go there either. I recommend Tech if you have to go in state. Its a very well respected university and doesn't discriminate to nearly the same scale.

Columbia University - 1560, 3.6 gpa (unweighted)

First choice: MIT

Applied to: U of Maryland College College Park, Johns Hopkins, Columbia, MIT, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon CS, Northwestern, Olin College

Got in: All but Northwestern

Went to Columbia because of great financial aid package - I'm still debt free

I think you got owned.

I would of gone to Stanford or Yale.

uw is plenty prestigious, nestled in a terrific town, has great athletics, contains a lively atmosphere, and thusly provides a great undergrad experience... at a way cheaper price than the other schools

i think i would of reviewing grammer before i ask people what college are they go now
