I resent that remark.

However, Purdue would probably accept you. They accept just about everyone from instate. Stay away from IU. Damn Hoosiers.

Hey, I didn't say they're all stupid. :) Someone told me about a guy at Purdue who had everyone on campus's birthday memorized... That's just freaky. You can definitely get a good education at those schools.

Why is it that every time someone asks any question about colleges, it always turns to the UC schools? You people do realize there are colleges outside of California, right? :)

Some colleges will admit you no matter how smart you are. The school I go to (University of Toledo) has such a policy. If you can pay the bill, they'll let you in.

Thankfully, each college can set admissions standards. The Engineering college is more selective, so we don't have the piles of idiots the business college gets :D

UC schools are crazy now. My friend had a 3.5 and a 1200 and UCD rejected him.

Don't even think about UCB...some people with 1600s and 4.0s don't get in.

Wow. Really? I doubt that... (for UCB)

depends what courses you took...ie honors that type of stuff. 3.12 gpa isn't shabby, but your sat/act scores are kinda low for anything more than a state college.

Depends on the state as well though...

For instance my high-school stats:

GPA: 3.6 (unweighted) / 4.2 (Weighted)
Sat: 1360

I got into honors programs at Florida State University & University of Central Florida, however, got rejected from the University of Florida on my first try. Reapplied with a higher GPA in a few months and made it in....

Not every state school is a breeze to get into, in fact many state schools are ranked very high.. (i.e. UF, UGA, etc...)
:Q
That is surprising to me that they rejected you with those grades/scores. I had similar grades/scores and got in, also into the honors program (just barely with my ACT score). What year did you enroll?

Is Emerson Out Of the Question or VALPO?

My g/f goes to Fisher, which is right next to Emerson (Literally). All I can say is that they have the weirdest people there.

Come on up here to DSU with me. www.dsu.edu

I got into the SDSMT (South Dakota School of Mines and Technology)

Both are really good schools.
My stats:

HS GPA: 2.33
ACT: 23

Of course it helps if you break it down further than that. For instance, my ACT score is rather low becasue I got a 17 in the english part of the test, not an english school so big deal!

Of course it helps that i was the computer science student of my HS once. In my opinion High School really was BS. I'm getting the best grades of my life now.

EDIT: I never said i could type..

college admissions are getting rediculous now. when i got in to UCLA (go bruins), the average sat was 1320 and gpa was 4.12 and it has gone up since then.

you should be fine with the upper 85th percentile. I had a 3.02 gpa and a 1390 on the sat and got into >95th percentile schools. Of course that was 5 years back... not sure if much has changed.
