Well I've met people from IU, ISU, and Purdue at parties at Ball State... they didn't strike me as the smartest people in the world. 🙂

UC schools are crazy now. My friend had a 3.5 and a 1200 and UCD rejected him.

Don't even think about UCB...some people with 1600s and 4.0s don't get in.

High school GPAs really don't mean anything. There's such a huge spread that it's mostly crap.

Emerson would really depend on your extracurriculars. Your scores might be a bit of a stretch. That's what I hear from friends who apply there at least.

depends what courses you took...ie honors that type of stuff. 3.12 gpa isn't shabby, but your sat/act scores are kinda low for anything more than a state college.

Depends on the state as well though...

For instance my high-school stats:

GPA: 3.6 (unweighted) / 4.2 (Weighted)
Sat: 1360

I got into honors programs at Florida State University & University of Central Florida, however, got rejected from the University of Florida on my first try. Reapplied with a higher GPA in a few months and made it in....

Not every state school is a breeze to get into, in fact many state schools are ranked very high.. (i.e. UF, UGA, etc...)

I had other friends get rejected from UF with simular stats, and hell i even had a brother who goes here.... (3.9/1520)

UF can be quite a selective school, which is why were ranked in the top 50 in the nation....

EDIT: Just checked the stats... Looks like we just moved out of the top 50 (we were 47 for the past few years, and 49 last year)... We're still up there though, just not sure of the exact number..
