I'll agree with you on that one, for a change.

Is a necro, but at least makes more sense than some things.

A+++

I've been using the Aero for a few months now for my morning cup-o-joe. So damn good. I actually watched a couple of different YT videos of using the Aero upside-down for a better brew and it actually makes a difference. The whole point of doing it upside down is so that the brew doesn't drip through while you're still pouring. The plunger is liquid tight so all water stays in the chamber to steep. Highly recommended. I just picked up a pound of Trade Joe's dark in a pinch and it's actually pretty tasty. Using my infinity capresso grinder on the third finest of 'fine' setting. Works well....

Sweet.....Baby....Jesus...... I DON'T WANT ICED COFFEE!.....THE "BOTTLED" PRE-MADE COFFEE YOU USE IS NOT AVAILABLE AROUND HERE AND I WOULDN'T BUY IT IF IT WERE...one more time, I'm seeking info about a COFFEE MAKER, not ANY pre-made product. Nor would I want anything that uses proprietary "pods", I want to brew regular Maxwell house coffee and it has to have a timer built into it, OK?.

It sounds like you need a nice glass of cold-brew to take the edge off.

Get an automated pour-over machine.

It's supposed to make a concentrated coffee, similar to espresso. You can can then add hot water to if you're looking for something similar to drip coffee.

If you just do half a scoop and a bunch of water in the Aeropress, it's going to badly overextract and make bitter coffee.

Back when I drank coffee (pre cancer), I would fill the mug about half full of coffee and the rest with flavored creamer.

SWEET...MOTHER...OF PEARL....I don't even know what the hell that is, some kind of yuppie, coffee-snob new invention? I just want a machine that has A) a backlight so I can see the time, B) programability, C) something else but a tube with holes it it that dispenses the water over the coffee. It is impossible for a design of this nature to disperse the hot water properly and evenly over the coffee while brewing.

Now that I'm drinking copious amounts of coffee again, probably 6 cups a day or so because its soothing to my throat and everything, the aeropress just isn't cutting it. Thinking about picking up a coffee maker from walmart so I can have multiple cups at my disposal and not have to make individual cups all the damn time.

Get one of those. I used to do filter and press and drip and all the craptacular contraptions that are popular with the yahoos and yuppies, then I realized "Ain't nobody got time for dat!".

Get a quality Nespresso machine, whatever kinda of coffee pods you want, and it makes whatever you want. Convenient, hassle free, great taste. If you say otherwise, you're just a foolish and snooty yuppie. :colbert:

not wanting to do pods, I'm wanting to make 4-6 cups at a time in a pot that keeps things warm. I'm guessing the cheapest way to do it will be with a programmable machine that will have it ready when I wake up in the morning.

Comes out cheaper per cup than anything you buy retails, and it's a worthwhile investment IMO. And, after meals, everybody can drink whatever the hell they want (that I have available), instead of everyone drinking the same coffee. :colbert:

Hey Kushina,
If you haven't purchased yet then you should go with HAMILTON BEACH ONE-CUP COFFEE MAKER,
This espresso maker offers maximum brewing flexibility options.
and can be used with K-cups of any variety, and this makes it truly functional & the best part is it is compact and portable, which means you can take it anywhere you like.

People will drink what I serve them. The choices are coffee, or a variety of tea. This isn't a resaurant, and I don't take requests. I can make a pot of exceptonal coffee, or two-three pots of decent coffee for the price of a pod, and not have landfill filler when I'm done.

The best drip machines are the Bonavita and Moccamaster. Combine that with good beans and it's heavenly.

And here I had always thought pods were for yuppies. That thing screams it to me personally.

From everything I'd ever read pods actually get low scores for taste.

Just made a cup with freshly ground Pike Place using the Aeropress. I don't normally buy SBX coffee, but I got a gift card for Christmas. Pretty good when it's ground fresh.

I love my French press. If you were asking about tea I'd recommend the Breville Tea Maker hands down. That thing is fantastic. :)

You can recycle the Nespresso pods. And, you're a terribad host.

Don't read, go try some of the Nespresso coffee. I bet you the bad reviews probably come from some douchebags with handlebar mustache, sipping his "blue bottle" coffee that came from processed beans salvaged from some animal feces, filtered from some unicorn horn contraption, while wearing his fedora, trying to get comfortable in his skinny jeans, typing on his Macbook.

lol was going to post this.

Though on serious note been toying with a single cup brew solution myself as I crave coffee even at home now - that stuff is a freaking drug I tell you! At work we have a keurig but I don't really want one for home. The Aeropress sounds interesting, might get myself one. I actually have a drip machine that I never used, but brewing a full pot for just me seems excessive.

Only thing with the Aeropress, how do the filters work, are they proprietary or can you just use any coffee filter and cut it to size? I'd probably stock up on them from Amazon to have them on hand but if they stop making them I don't want to be stuck with something I can't use.
