What Codec Pack Is Needed To Play MPEG2?

Wmp? Get real...but not REAL.

Try VLC or MPC............job done...........except for binning wmp (pile of pooh). As for codec packs? err why? all most people need is FFDshow and AC3Filter.

WMP is creating problems for you that dont need answers.........think about it. USE SOMETHING ELSE

Yup.... agreed Zoomplayer is fantastic (esp. for TV out), BSpalyer is good. Also TCMP is pretty dam good (sort of half way...but with better audio).

So which player would be best for all around video playing??? Id like to have one program instead of a few.Which one would support the most codecs???

I like Media Player Classic for all around video playing, but I use Winamp most of the time because I want one good media player.

ok so where can I get media player classic???? is there a codec pack that I need to download somewhere for it after installing???

Yes youre right about Winamp... that handle all audio for myself. I just want something that is great at whatever video format I throw at it.

Google won't bite....

Media Player Classic

K-Lite Codec Pack
There are alot of good codec packs available, it just takes a little searching.

ffdshow plays almost everything I throw at it.

If do use a codec pack, I'd use the K-lite one. I recommend against Nimo as I've had very bad experiences with it.

Is Mpeg2 DVD? Because if it is, you will need a DVD codec from powerdvd/windvd if I recall correctly. Also, Zoomplayer > Media Player Classic.

Do not install any codec paks! Get FFDShow. If you don't want FFDShow, get JUST Xvid and Divx 5. That should cover nearly everything.

Download GSpot and figure out what codec the file uses.

Windows Media Player should work fine. I use WMP9 for video playback without any problems.

G-Spot is only for AVI files I think?
