What cleaning solution/rewetting drops for Contacts?

Finally back to wearing contacts again after 5-6 years of glasses only. Have things changed much regarding cleaning solution/rewetting drops?

I used to use Optifree previously, anything better out now?
 
I'm assuming soft contacts. I don't think it matters much. Buy what's cheap at Wal-Mart. My only experience is 2 weeks of wearing soft contacts while I was waiting for a replacement lens and the manufacturer had some problems.

I have gas permeable contacts. I've stuck with mostly Boston solutions for the past 19 years.
 
I've used Opti-Free for 3 years, no problems at all. I'm not sure there's anything "better" though, cleaning solution is cleaning solution. If it gets rid of protein buildup and disinfects that's all that matters.

I've had a better experience with Optifree than with the cheap stuff. The contacts are much more comfortable now.

When I wore contacts I had the same results.
 
Cleaning solutions aren't really rewetting solutions no matter what they say on the box. I like getting both products from the same company... Blink and Complete. Good stuff.
 
I am very skeptical of combination no rub cleaner/rewetting drops. A few years ago there was a mold growing in a brand of that stuff, and some people went blind. :Q While most of it is perfectly fine, that incident gave me the willies. I think Clear Care is the way to go, and it's also what the optometrist recommended.

It can be if you want to go blind... Hydrogen Peroxide straight into your eyes leaves a mark...

I also use clearcare, but you have to use their cleaning case. that solution works wonder, just make sure you leave your lens in their case with their solution for more than six hours or else your lens will burn your eyes.

Exactly. The distinction is that it can't be used as rewetting drops before it's neutralized because the solution is so basic. That also means it has the best chance of remaining sterile in the bottle.
