Should i sign up for somthing like newspaper or mosaic or green circle? Is that good when colleges look at your app?

I'd take GovEcon AP. I did and had a 99 in macro econ and a 98 in micro econ in college. Was a huge help, at least to me. Very very glad I took it.

Just dont over load your self. I am taking AP Calc, AP Govt, Ap Eng Lit, AP Bio and Health Occupations Course at RTI and well I was overloaded and GPA got screwed, senioritis is kicking in hard so I am auditing Calc. When Feb April and the sun comes around you won't want be to be studyin for AP's n stuff but to hang out with your friends and stuff

I took:

AP English
AP Calculus
AP Physics
AP Chemistry (2nd year)
AP German (4th year)
2nd Year Photography

All the AP classes were a waste in my opinion except German. The german class was the only one that actually prepared me sufficiently for college. I know this for a fact because I got credit for two years of german.;)

Those who mock band and choir are not as intellegent as they wish they were.

I think these are valid suggestions. Expand your horizons. Try something you might not be good at.

I'm currently enrolled in AP Biology, and I like it, except for the huge textbook, and I'm going to apply for AP European history.

Why is that funny? If you enjoy music and have a free period, at least give choir a try. It can't hurt.

why would you take all AP classes your senior year? I know that I'm going to take one AP and that will be calc.
I'm gonna be a junior next year, and this is my schedule:
AP Eng 11
AP US History
AP Computer Sci. AB
H. Adv. Math
H. Special Topics
H. Chemistry
H. Orchestra
German 1

i will b taking...8 periods of junk:

LUNCH! (gotta have it)
AP English
AP EuroHist
AP German (possibly college german...im gonna try to skip ger4)
AP Chemistry (2 period class...blagh)
AP Compsci/Number theory (AP lvl course)/AP Gov't/Pol (i cant decide :()
Linear Algebra (over at NC State)

some of that's liable to change...I may drop chemistry b/c college releases might eat 2 periods of the day...I dont know yet. Balancing my schedule is gonna SUCK.

From some of the stuff I've read/ppl i've talked to, colleges like you to have as many APs as possible. It reflects well on you--you took the most rigororous course load, which is a big +. Getting As is good (duh). And, doing well (4/5s) on the AP tests also reflects on you VERY well.

Other than that, try to take more classes in areas you like (as you can see, i love math). But feel free to take some stuff you enjoy (gov't pol for me...good stuff there)

And another thing: by senior year, don't go randomly starting things...unless for example, you finished all the french classes, and there's nothing else so you chose latin. But if you've never shown interest in newspaper stuffs b4, dont go and start it randomly in senior year.

But again...AP=good...colleges would much prefer you to get a B in AP than an A in honors.

AND...do not neglect your SAT/SATII scores...despite what many say, they are VERY important.

EDIT: do more APs if you wanna increase your chances of getting into a fairly/highly selective college. And if that is the case...DO NOT slack off; that will automatically kill your chances. Remember, these places look for you to LOVE learning. If that's not where you're headed, you dont need to push yourself that hard, unless you like challenges :) Or if you want to cut a year off of college (or more...)

Just take a few AP classes if you can handle it, maybe do some Running Start classes if your district has something like that set up... other than that, do well in the classes you do take, and have fun!!! When you head to college, it all starts over.

I took mostly band and computer tech classes my senior year. :)

So it's my last semester. I decide that I want to take some interesting courses... that sound difficult... but are really not

Origins of Science
AP Psychology
Discrete Math
Software Design
AP Literature and Composition
AP Economics
Optics
Intro to Networking

Colleges want to see that you're still challenging yourself even though it's senior year. So don't slack off.

because calculus is fun :D

But uh, Calc AB/BC is a one year course, 2 class periods. For 1st semester, you learn AB, then 2nd semester you learn BC. It's cramming 1st/2nd year calc into 1 year for those who think they can handle it. Tis a tough course (im in it now...we have 4 more sections left before we finish learning and start AP review), but I love the stuff...most interesting math course since pre-algebra imo.

Edit: block schedule...my bad ;) But there is a AB/BC class...

what the hell is with you people? Sheesh, five classes for me is enough:

BTW - why are you taking AB & BC? BC is the same course as AB, only more info about it (2nd semester of college calc). I'm taking AB now, to get a good background - I'm expecting to do well on my AP exam, but I want to retake AP in college (need one easy first semester course in enginerring, heeh).

AP Calculus AB
AP Art History (I needed an art credit, so i took it - I hate the damn stools we have to sit on - my ass always hurts!)
AP Government (this semster)/Economics (last semester - may try to take CLEP placement test, I'm not studying for another AP, and i hear CLEP's are easy)
AP Chemistry (not too bad)
English (me dont speak good enuf for AP, besides 4 is enough..)

My grades dropped a little first semester, they are definitely going to drop this semester (BUT HELL, I'M INTO COLLEGE!!!!)

hmmm...uh no...last time i checked they're not even similar. BC is big on integral fun. And rotational volumes...basic diffrential equations (1st order, seperable), and you do stuff with infinte series/sequences (not the easy stuff in precalc mind you).
