When I did smoke, it was Marlboro Lights. I started with Camel Filters back when I was young.

But please take the advice from someone who knows first hand: Quit now. The sooner the better.

I smoked for 15+ years and I fear the damage I have done is irreversible. Even after 4+ years smoke free, I still have problems.

Why do cigarette smokers have a specifc brand that they smoke? You don't normally find people who only drink a specific type of alcohol, or only like one flavor of ice cream, so what makes cigarettes different?

<- not a smoker.

Seconded. I smoked for almost 10. I feel much better now but I do wonder how bad I've damaged myself.

Um, not true. Most beer drinkers have a fav brand, but they will settle for others in a pinch. Same for foods or sodas.

You get used to the specific flavor of the cigarette you prefer, basically. Others may not feel as satisfying, regardless of their nicotine content.

obviously the smoking has killed enough brain cells, prohibiting you from forming a coherent sentence.

Not in my experience. There are lots of people buying a different microbrew every week to try new beers, and I don't know anyone who wouldn't get sick of eating the same food every day.

Sure they do. Many people will only drink a certain kind of beer. I know some people who only drink whiskey...Jack to be specific.

They don't eat the same food, but they have their favorite brands. Like someone who only uses Kraft Mayo, or Heinz Ketchup. Or someone who prefers Coke over Pepsi.

It's just a preference.
