What churches support homosexuals?

about half of the episcopalians for church leadership. I know a several gay people that are members of various protestant churches where i live, the gift of salvation is available to everyone.
 
The last church I visited (Southern Baptist) said that homosexuals and people who vote for Kerry will burn in hell. Needless to say, I have visited them in a while.
 
If the protestant doctrine/bible are correct, then practicing homosexuals will go to hell as it is not possible to knowingly and continually live a life of sin and truly have accepted Christ as your saviour.

I think the comment about Kerry is a bit over the limit. It should not have been said by the pastor.

Besides a large chunk of the Episcopalian(sp)/Anglican church, the UCC and probably countless small liberalized independant churches, I cannot think of any others right now.

Also, it might be a good time to point out that a proper protestant church body should never hate homosexual people but only hate homosexuality. I realize how difficult it is to separate the person from the act but it is necessary.
 
FIFO, homosexuality is supposed to be genetic... something that happens at birth. I'm a Christian who believes that people with good hearts get into Heaven. Are people born with homosexuality born to go to hell?
 
As I recall the whole point of Jesus dying on the cross was so that entry into heaven was not determined by following a list of rules but by believing in Jesus and the love of God.

Exactly. You can be a puppy kicking, nun raping, child killing son of a bitch, but as long as you believe Jesus died for your sins, you're straight into heaven. Whereas an upstanding atheist who say, finds a cure for cancer, and works with the big brother program in his spare time, will go straight to hell.
 
Personally, I would just get a bible, read it, and forget the whole church thing. Don't ever let a man stand up and tell you what the bible means. That's something you have to learn on your own. IMO
 
Why must homosexuals always talk about their sexual preference? Not a flame so much as I just wanna know if they ever look at something and not wonder how it relates to homosexuality.

A struggle for exceptance. The more things they can align with their way of life the more normal their way seems.

We don't always talk about it. It's just the only part you remember because it stands out and focuses your attention.
When a gay person talks about car problems on the forum, you don't notice. Because it's just a human being with a car problem.
And that happens alot.

But put the word gay in a post, and bam, we are always talking about our homosexuality.
 
not really, Christ called sinners to repentance. if a person keeps commiting the same sin, over and over, its not really repenting is it? also, ones sin could just be a cold heart like the story between lazeras and the rich man.

Red. If you are sinning and spitting in Gods face while you do it, I truly doubt that you would be taken seriously by God.

Sin is to be avoided. Not embraced. Salvation through faith by grace is not a license to sin. Although that is the message that the RCC has sent with all of their focus on going to confessional.

If one is what they claim to be, then they will produce fruit accordingly. Maybe not lots of fruit, but definitely some.

If someone is encouraging Christians to sin, there is an extra special dispensation that the Bible makes reference to for those people.

Everyone is naturally going to put things into their personal frame of reference. It is simply human nature.

Needless to say, I, and many here will probably agree, doubt that there will be much position influencing or changing going on in the world in regards to this subject. I have atheist friends that are just as opposed to homosexuality as I am and I know "Christians" that support homosexuality. The subject has been a huge issue for much of the worlds population for over 2000 years. Countries and kingdoms have had laws against homosexual acts over the course of history. It is one hell of a sensitive subject.

My biggest concern is that of the slippery slope. See, in Canada (I am from Canada), there is a desire to have sexual orientation added to the charter of human rights. If this happens, it will get progressively harder to keep things like bestiality and pedophelia illegal. Anyone who thinks otherwise, just remember that Canada is also on the verge of legallizing marijuana. I bet you that 100 years ago, you could have caused heart attacks in western culture if you told them that the world would be the way it is today.
