I have some Corsair TWINX512 PC3200LLPT (256x2) with timings of 2-2-2-6 on the factory label. I picked it up off the FS/FT forum 6-8mo ago. Does anyone know what chips this uses? I read that BH-5 chips were the only that could run those timings, but didn't think that they were used in Corsair TWINX. I did notice that on their website, they now show timings of 2-3-2-6 for the current run of this memory. Does this mean they have changed chips?

you might be able to get 230mhz on those with a small voltage bump and 2-2-2-6 timings

good stuff ranks up there with the mushkin stuff

Cool deal. I picked it up last Sept off the FS board here for $100 shipped. I have been tempted a few times to pick up some BH-5 sticks since. But reading the current review on the Mushkin 222 Special made me question what's under the heat spreaders of this Corsair.

is there any other way to check apart from removing the heat spreader?

I have a 512MB twinx corsair PC3200 rated at 2-2-2-6 timings as well.

2-2-2-6 T1 is printed on the label on both sticks and they are 1+ year old. The current run of the same sticks is labeled 2-3-2-6 T1. I am assuming that the latter suggests a move away from the BH-5 chips. Check your labels. I just pulled a stick and lifted the heatspreader on one edge to verify the BH-5 chips. I kinda feel like I just bought new ram!
