What cell phone should I get and where should I get it?

I'm going to begin looking online (but don't where) and although money is not too much of an issue as I want a good phone I also want a HOT deal so to speak.

I also could give two shits as to whether or not it has camera capabilities but as most good phones probably come standard with that feature it may not matter what I think.

Thanks for your help and suggestions!

My Nextel i90 is working fine for me. The bad thing is that the new i730 isn't all that great and in order to get it for $150, they want you to sign a two-year contract. I'm in New York and I'm sure there are places where it can be had for one year. I heard the i930 is supposed to be a good phone and should be coming out over the summer. The plans are decently priced but the thing that kills you is the taxes. For a $39.99 plan, I pay about $52 monthly.

I just got the Toshiba VM-4050 from SprintPCS its the best phone ive has so far i use not to be able to get a signal from certain places but with this phone i do :)
i got it from Costco for $249.99 which included car charger, handsfree kit, and body glove case. No need to sign up for a new contract but since this will be ur first phone?? you can get it from Sprint for $179.99 after $150 instant savings

2 words. No wait...1 word. Yeah. 1 word. No, maybe it is two....... Well, either way

Blue Tooth

:D

I'd get a Bluetooth phone from PCS (If there out yet, I think they have 1). Also, I'd look for one that has the push to talk feature as well. If the coffee maker rumors are true it will be very cool.

Currently my carrier is Cingular however I don't necessarily care who my carrier is so long as I don't get charged roaming fees EVER. My contract expired over a year ago and I have been waiting for the latest and greatest but since my phone took a poop a few days ago and is plagued with the "NO SERVICE" virus I am sort of being forced to make a decision.

Another question would be who is the best carrier to never get charged roaming fees? I'm noticing there are several networks what is the best or should I go with a phone plan that includes dual networks?

Does anyone know when number portability will become available in Central Illinois?

i use Nextel (i730), no problems here. DC, LD, speakerphone and web surfing :)

however, if you live out in the bushes, don't get Nextel.

in more urban areas, Nextel's penetration is pretty damn good compared to other's i've used, even down in the basement.

Too bad the voice quality is terrible.
