What cdrw software for Win2k? ASPI manager problems?

I recently made the changeover to Win2k, but am having trouble getting any cdrw software to work. I downloaded the demo of cdrwin, but I got errors saying that it couldn't find the ASPI manager, and that no cd recording device was found. I then tried Easy CD Creator (version 4, I think), but that said it wasn't compatible with Win2k.

How can I get cdrwin to work with Win2k? Do I have to install an ASPI manager?

What is your Win2k cdrw software of choice?

FYI - I have a Plextor 32/14 and a Yamaha 4416s.

You have to install aspi drivers. I personally use Nero, CDRWIN, and diskjuggler, and have the adaptic on w98 partition. All work fine for me.

BTW adaptic will sork on W2k with the aspi drivers installed.

I have always used Nero in Win2K, and was never required to install "ASPI" drivers to get it to work.

Nero has a proprietary ASPI DLL. One interesting thing I noticed last week; I've stuck with v4.091 because v5.x kept acting unexpectedly (haven't tried the last couple of 5.x releases, perhaps it has been fixed). Nero would not recognize my USB burner under Win2k, then I decided to download their latest Winaspi.dll and drop into the Nero directory. Now it picks up the USB burner and it works great. Maybe not an issue for v5.x users (if it's packaged with the installer), but the Nero web page instructs Win2k users to download the ASPI library separately.

Best regards,

Or Try NTI CD-Maker 2000It's a great software that I've been using for awhile now and I think it's much easier to use than Nero. I have a plextor 12/10/32 and run win2k adv server with service pack 1.
