I have misplaced the CD-burning software that came with my CD-writer (and besides, that software would be ancient by now). So what freely available CD-burning software would you recommend for Windows?

You are entitled to use this version for a maximum of 30 days. After this period, you must either purchase the software or remove it from your system. Note: A few recorder models do not support 1x recording speed, so the demos will not work with them (the error "Unable to set writing speed" will appear).

Hmph. I have CD-burning software in Linux (there's plenty of free burning-software for Linux), but I wanted piece of software for Windows as well. Maybe I should just boot to Linux and do my burning there.

Nero is absolutely great. Not the most intuitive software in the world, but very nice once you get the hang of it.

OK I installed Nero. But it hangs when I start it up (during the "Scanning IDE/SCSI-bus" or something). This sucks :(!

Nero for general purpose stuff . CloneCD kicks butt for copying . Not exactly burning software , but Daemon Tools rules .
