lol the answers are so awesome. Eli there are a lot of reasons why people bruise easily. Diet, medications, aging can all affect how you bruise. I really wouldn't pay it any mind unless your bruising is becoming a noticable pattern which is unusual. Like getting a lot more easy bruising more often. Coagulation problems (cuts and scrapes or bloody noses not stopping quickly). If so bring it up with your doctor. He can run a platelet check, blood checks for other causes, cross check with any medications, etc.

Pushing a car with your shoulder... it's not surprising you bruised from this. You may have also not noticed how much force you were using due to a little bit of adrenaline.

You might be low on B9 (folic acid) and B12.

Eat a lot more:

Brussel sprouts
Broccoli
Beans/lentils
Eggs

which contain both.

Well it also depends on the area. There's a lot of blood moving through your shoulder and in front. But on the comment of getting older you will bruise easier.

Bah.. shh...

For some reason, turning 27 was the first time I actually felt "old"...

:(

damn....I have been going pretty hard and at 37 only a bit slowing down.
No, I don't mean feel old physically... More of a mental thing, and how I perceive other people are perceiving me.. lol

Hmm, well I drink a lot of energy drinks which tend to contain a lot of the B vitamins..

B12 at least. Maybe not so much B9.

You haven't started using any sort of cholesterol medication in recent years, have you? I know when I went for a blood test one time, they asked about that, and pointed out to me that one of the things that cholesterol medicines do for you, is to thin your blood a bit. Helps keep those nasty clots from occurring, ya know?

I have noticed, since I started using Vytorin, that I bleed more freely than I used to before I took it. If you're at all anemic, that can add to the problem as well. And while you may be consuming plenty of cow, if your body isn't processing the iron correctly, you could be leaning toward anemia.

Like the others have said, if you don't notice a pattern, it's probably not worth worrying about. :)
