What causes muscle spasms?

<< Constant and repeated stimulation of certain organs can cause very pleasurable muscle spasms of a similar sort. >>

You mean like this?

I think muscle spams occur because not all of the neurotransmitters (found between neurons) were absorbed by the reuptake process and so the nerve fires a couple of time more. Either that or something about ions (Potassium?) lining the nerves and not opening the ion gates. 😕 Someone please clarify this as I would like to know the full answer as well.

Spasms are caused by a sort of confusion in the way that the nerves are stimulating the muscle.

Regular muscular activity happens when stimulus occurs to make a motion or reaction. Hence movement.

Irregular stimulus is when the nerve tries to move the muscle in opposing, opposite directions. Or, trying to contract and expand at the same time.

That is the physiological reason behind spasms, I couldn't tell you why they start. Possibly lack of minerals or something like that.

Are you having muscle spasms? I think everyone has those muscle twitches, some spasms, etc., and they go rather unnoticed. If you're having chronic muscle spasms, it could be a neurological disorder, so see your doc!

They can be caused by many things: stress, anxiety, diet, drugs, etc.
