I've been lookin into building a new computer, and was looking at the Alienware cases. I'vel ooked everywhere for that same model but can only find the model they used to use, the antec sx1030. I was wondering if anyone knew the new model they use, as it's alot more compact which is to my liking.

Alienware cases are made by Chieftec. The specific model is Dragon. They sell them at Newegg.com. Heres a link to chieftec and one to Newegg's selection. Also, Antec cases are rebadged Chieftecs.

also cheiftech is a very new company, they popped up about a year ago.
antec has been around a lot longer.

actually i do believe you're wrong as well...neither antec NOR chieftec make these cases...at least, not everything but the front bezels...

some other company whose name starts w/ a 'c', and which i've forgotten, manufacturers the cases i think...someobody else help me out here...cuz there's like 4 manufacturers that sell the damned things under their own name...

anyway, it doesn't really matter that much...let's not poo our pants over here about it.

This from Chieftec's website:
With a long experience and strong industrial base, Chieftec Industrial Co., Ltd. establishing in 1990 and quickly become a professional Leader in manufacturing and exporting of computer case.
So they're not a new company
Also, according to the website they are an OEM:
Because of our complete experience, facilities and incorporate our design with latest Intel specifications, Chieftec specialize in OEM/ODM projects with customers around the world.
Anyways, most of Chieftec cases (not sure if all but the ones on Newegg are) are nicer than Antec's because they are aluminum not steel like Antec.

Yes Chenming are the original I believe. I talked to the guy over at Designcomp.com and he seems to believe so too =P

Oh well they are all the same anyways. Get an aluminum case.

ok, so i was wrong, however my sx1040 rules.
maybe it is steel, but i can stand on top of it, and i manage to keep my idle temp at 34 C with my 1600+ at 1800+ and at load no higher than 42 C.
This is with a pal8045 and a panaflo L1A (24cfm).
Hell, I don't even need a fan when not overclocking. :)

Not totally true...my Chieftec Super TX-103 is solid steel and weighs a ton. Nobody is going to be running out of my dorm room with it. :)

Chenming is also known as Uneec if anyone cares.

I've seen them as Uneec at computer shows. Chenming started using the name Uneec in the US in 2000.
